This series contains letterpress copybooks of letters sent by the State Treasurer to a variety of persons and organizations including state government officials, tax collectors, and financial institutions. The letters deal with the use, accounting, expenditure, receipt, and overall management of state funds. As the keeper of all state funds and as the central manager of those funds, the Treasurer's responsibilities were great and encompassed many of the same functions currently performed by the State Revenue and Finance Depts.
